Pomegranate takes its color reference from one of nature's most visually striking fruits — the crimson-jeweled interior of a freshly cut pomegranate, where clusters of deep garnet seeds glisten against pale pith. The palette captures this range precisely: from the near-black depth of the deepest seeds, through rich ruby and vivid pomegranate red, softening to the pale rose and petal tones of the fruit's inner membrane.

The jewel character of this palette comes from the blue-red quality of the midtones — Pomegranate (#D43060) and Ruby (#9B1840) both contain enough blue to read as precious rather than simply warm. This pushes the palette toward a luxury and premium quality that orange-leaning reds don't achieve as naturally. The result is a range of reds that looks appropriate on packaging for high-end products, editorial layouts for sophisticated audiences, and branding that needs to signal exclusivity.

Food and beverage brands have long used pomegranate as a visual cue for antioxidant richness, natural energy, and premium quality — and this palette captures exactly that visual language. It works equally well for juice and health food brands, specialty food packaging, artisan chocolate, wine and spirits design, and cosmetics that want to evoke richness and natural luxury.

Rose Quartz and Pale Petal at the light end of the range are particularly useful tones — they maintain the pink-red character of the palette while being light enough for large background areas, making the full range usable as a complete digital or print design system without requiring additional neutral colors. The contrast between Garnet Seed and Pale Petal is high enough to meet accessibility requirements for text use.
